Call for Presentations, Panels and Performances

The 2020 Conference on James Baldwin in Saint-Paul de Vence, France

June 18-21, 2020

With closing keynote speaker Dr. Cornel West

Seventh in a series, this conference follows others hosted by Howard University (2000), Queen Mary University of London (2007), Suffolk University (2009), New York University (2011), Université Paul Valéry in Montpellier (2014), and the American University in Paris (2016).

In addition to the conference’s ongoing scholarly exploration of all things Baldwin, this year’s gathering will expand to engage community activists, writers, performing artists and other change agents for a multidisciplinary conversation on James Baldwin and social justice.

Prospective panel facilitators are asked to propose an academic, activist or craft session with a minimum of two and a maximum of four presenters.
