The Department of Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies (CLIS) and the African Studies Institute (ASI) at University of Georgia invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in African Literatures and Intercultural Studies, with primary specialization in Anglophone Sub-Saharan African Literature.

Successful candidate will have demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and research and be able to teach introductory courses in African Literature and African Studies, as well as courses in African Oral Traditions and/or Intercultural Studies at all levels.

We are interested in candidates with secondary specialization in African cinema, African Diaspora literature and/or African language pedagogy.

Appointment will begin on August 1, 2020. Applicants must have Ph.D. in Comparative Literature, African Studies or related field by appointment time and demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness and potential for scholarly publication and service.
