Organizers of Black Communities: A Conference for Collaboration seek proposals for its event that will take place on April 23-25, 2018 in Durham, North Carolina. Hosted by units at UNC-Chapel Hill, the conference will facilitate community-engaged research devoted to settlements, neighborhoods and collectives with populations of African descent. Conference participants, including community members, faculty and students, and others, will exchange and learn about their respective expert knowledge and interests concerning black community life. They will also explore research partnerships.
Proposals for papers, panel presentations, workshops, working groups and roundtable discussions are due by November 14, 2017. For more information see the call for proposals and the conference website.
