The Department of Dance at UC Riverside alongside the Consortium for Black Studies in California are hosting the 4th Biennial Show & Prove Hip Hop Studies Conference 2018. We are now accepting proposals for papers, panels, performances, workshops, films, and roundtables to be included in this year’s conference. The keywords are hustling and response/ability.
Show & Prove is interdisciplinary in practice and international in scope. It is premised on cultivating the necessary and critical dialogues for the development of Hip Hop Studies as a field. As one of the few ongoing conferences exclusively geared toward Hip Hop Studies, it has become a site for dialogue and critical feedback on new and cutting edge work. Submit as Word or PDF a 250-word abstract for individual projects, or a 300-word abstract for panel proposals (with no more than 200-word descriptions per individual contributions to the whole). Be sure to provide contact information, A/V requirements, length of performances, and any accommodation needs. **Undergraduate submssions should include a faculty mentor who can serve as a guide int eh process of presenting at a conference. Proposals are due no later than 11:59pm PST on April 15, 2018. Accepted proposals wil be notified by May 15th.
